Last First Kiss: A Novel by Julian WintersMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the second book by Winters about the 24 Carter Gold company/family. They can be read as standalone stories but I do recommend both of them.
Jordan’s role as an event coordinator reunites him with Jamie, the “best man” of the bride. Jamie also happens to be the individual with whom Jordan shared a very memorable first kiss—one that he still thinks about to this day. It may even be the kiss that seems to keep Jordan from successfully getting past the first date with all the girls his mom keeps setting him up with.
It took me a few moments to get into this one; the writing felt a little off and uneven at first. Jordan and Jamie are delightful, even as they deal with their various issues (childhood trauma, overbearing families, etc.) and Jordan struggles to fit Jamie into his life while planning 24 Carter’s Gold’s first wedding in ages.
I’m glad I kept reading as this turned in a wonderfully diverse and tender story about identity, finding yourself, and yes (of course!) falling in love.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and St. Martin's Griffin in return for an unbiased review.
